Creation Vs. the Appreciation of History

Everyone is always in a such a rush to develop new things, yet we forget to fully appreciate our pre-creations.

I understand that one idea stems to another and so forth, it’s how the human race is built to function, to grow and create.

But are my children going to be aware of the works of Hemingway? Who created the pen? The first heart transplant? Etc etc.

I barely would of known these things without the use of the internet, because I sure as hell didn’t learn them in school.

So is technology a blessing in disguise? or kind of a self inflicted disease?

My theory being is that if we cut off the power in the world for a week, what would countries who depend on technology do? Panic?

I want my kids to experience the world first hand, not just read it on a screen.
