Exams done.

It’s been a while again since  I posted. I’ve once again had a dry spell of blogging.
A lot has happened within the last month, I tragically lost a friend, and my heart goes to him, his family and his friends.

My best friend is moving to Malaysia as well, and although I am proud and happy for him, is saddens me that he won’t be around.

My first year of uni is almost coming to an end, and I can’t believe it’s gone so fast.

I am truly at a happy point in my life, I began the year heartbroken, and in a new city.
Now I have met some of the most brilliant people and had experiences that cannot be forgotten.

I plan to look forward and not try grab the things in my past. New chapter has begun.

One for the road.

At 2.33am in the morning I’m struggling to stay awake as well as function. So I think it is about time to give the writer in me a sedative.

For the people who read this, whether you are drinking your coffee before a day at the office, having a beer after a long shift, or even sipping at the juice from your kids sippy cup while you pray they won’t wake from their nap, just think of the happiest moment of your life, and take 10 seconds to smile about it.

And get excited for another moment like that to come your way.

Good night all.

Becki Sheldon.

Fifteen Assumptions That Might Be Useful To Make

Reblogged from The Belle Jar:

1. Assume that you are loved.

2. Assume that those who love you find some kind of value in you and the things you do.

3. Assume, however, that you don't need to be valuable in order to be worthy of love.

4. Assume that there is no one out there keeping a tally of all of your failings, ready to throw it in your face when you're either feeling too good or too awful about yourself.

I love this. It's beautiful.

Lovely sisters

Just wanted to share a couple of pics of my gorgeous little sisters.

Although I don’t get to see them that much. I adore them.
3 years ago they hadn’t made their presence into the world and thinking back I couldn’t imagine them not being in my life.

I cannot wait to watch them grow and they come to me for advice on boy’s, and asking me to drive them to parties.

Fund the museums!

image

Penny farthings? Fascinated that people rode around on these. How do you mount them?!

On a student budget and my inability to drive, it becomes difficult to find things to do as a student that don’t involve Jaeger bombs. My friend from home came up though and we had a bash at the discovery museum in Newcastle. It was free. It had some gems. But some of the displays were rubbish and comical because of it.

There should be more fundraising for free museums. Kids nowadays are becoming unaware of the world and being sucked into technology. And it isn’t just kids, its everyone, even my grandmas a regular facebook user.

I had fun though. Fun you don’t experience through technology. I created memories that I’ll remember for a long time.  In 10 years time I don’t want to say to my kids, ‘when i was young i did this on twitter’.
I want them to experience everything on a first hand basis. Not through a screen.

I love museums now. And without the free ones what’s a student like me have to turn to? A life of drinking Jaeger bombs and binging on takeaway food?!
Not on my watch. More funding for museums! You can spend a whole day in one and still not know everything there is to know.
